Recording the ownership of registered Murray Grey cattle is one of the primary functions of the American Murray Grey Association. When a registered animal is sold it is important to transfer that animal in the records of the Association. When the sale is complete, the seller should apply to transfer ownership of that animal. The application for transfer of ownership is on the back of the registration certificate.
1 – Seller should fill out the buyer’s information
A – If a calf is sold at the side of dam the seller must provide the calf’s sex, color, date of birth and tattoo with the application for transfer of the dam (on the back of the registration certificate).
B – If a calf is sold weaned, but not registered, seller must provide buyer with a “Transfer of Eligible Unregistered Animal” form with date of birth, tattoo, color, sex. registration numbers of sire and dam. The seller is responsible for tattooing the calf before it is sold.
It is critical that both tattoo and color of the calf is reported to the Association. The tattoo is the legal identifier of Murray Grey cattle.
2- Seller should sign and remit the application to the Association with the correct fee.
It is the seller's responsibility to transfer the ownership of registered Murray Greys. |
